Former Wewoka resident Leon Timothy Lusty, departed this life on Saturday, September 22, 2018. He was born July 16, 1940 in Wewoka, OK to the late Elmer “Alma” Lusty and Hazel Coker Lusty. He was a graduate of Wewoka High School .

He received a Bachelor degree from Northeastern State College and a Master degree from Oklahoma State University. He was in the National Guard and activated to the US Army earning the rank of Colonel at time of his retirement and discharge. Leon married Gail Bay, October 27, 2002 in Las Vegas, NV. He was a member of the Seminole Tribe and a member of Glorieta Baptist Church, Oklahoma City. His hobbies were traveling, taking photo’s and spending time with his family.

Leon was a very giving person and enjoyed doing missionary work. Preceding Leon in death are his parents and one grandson Tory Shane Lusty. Survivors include his wife Gail of the home; children Nina Bear of Oklahoma City, Lynette Isaac and husband Gary of Owasso, OK, Jennifer Lusty of Nashville, TN; grandchildren Stephen Bear, Taylor Graham, Alyssa Bear, Avery Graham, Emma Graham, Grayson Isaac, Schuyler Crichton, and Isabel Isaac; great-grandchildren Gabriella Zuniga and Mia Zuniga ; brothers Robert Lusty of Holdenville, OK, and David Lusty of Yukon, OK; one sister Blanche Lusty Huneycutt of Port Orange, FL.

and a host of other relatives and friends. Pall bearers will be Chuck Ratajczyk, Dylan Mateo, Richard Schackow, Curt Dye, Ray Badgett, and Samuel Frazier. Honorary pall bearers will be Raymond Cain , Jules Bert, Richard Lee Palmer, Tim Goombi, Jim Adelhelm, and Eric Davis.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, September 28, 2018 at Glorieta Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, with Pastor Ledtkey McTntosh officiating, and assisted by Pastor Willie Doweto. Committal services will be 3:00 PM Friday at Oakwood Cemetery with Brother Kellos Walker officiating. Arrangements by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
