Services for Leroy “Candyman” Griffin, 89, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018, with Military Honors, at Erath County Cowboy Church with Bro. Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at Valera Cemetery in Coleman County, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Lacy Funeral Home. Leroy was born in Globe, Arizona on October 21, 1928 to Floyd and Agness Griffin. He married Frankie Lee Traylor on April 3, 1965 in Abilene.

She preceded him in death on September 3, 2004. He was in the Army Airforce defended his country in World War 2, and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Cowboy Church in Stephenville, held the 32nd degree in the Stephenville Masonic Lodge 267, in which he was Past Master and received the Golden Trowel Award, Life Member of the American Legion post 240, He held Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Elks Lodge, and was also a member of the Stephenville Lions Club, and the Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include sons Robbie Owens of Houma, LA; Jeffrey C. Owens of Stephenville, Texas; Ronald Kudicek of Cleburne, Texas; Grandchildren Teri Hind Wilson, Jeffrey Ryan Owens, Jeffrey Clay Ownes, Jr., James Kubicek, and Ashley Kubicek, numerous great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by one brother Floyd Griffin, sisters Ruth Ramos, and Billie Hughes; former wives Patricia A Webb, and Dolly Parham; one son Ludick Kubicek, and two daughters Barbra Garcia, and Vicki Franks.
