Lester William Allen, 93 of Westwood passed away December 21, 2018 at his home after a period of declining health. He was the loving husband of Lois Caroline (Olson) Allen. Born August 21, 1925 in North Adams, MA he was the son of the late Claude and Olive (Lester) Allen.

Lester earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and had lived in N. Easton, Fort Walton Beach, FL, Honolulu, HI, Cohasset, and for the past 34 years in Westwood. During his career as an electrical engineer he worked for Laboratory For Electronics in Boston, Florida and Hawaii. He retired in 1992 after worked for MITRE Corporation in Bedford, MA for many years.

Lester was a veteran of WW II, serving as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy from 1943 – 1945 where he was a Navy Pilot. He loved flying privately, sailing and boating. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed making furniture and doing in home improvements.

In addition to his wife Caroline he is survived by 4 children: David W. Allen of Walpole, Lisa Lytle and her husband James of Jamaica Plain, Charles L. Allen and his wife Linda of St. Augustine, FL and John P. Allen of Mashpee; 3 grandchildren: Kristen Donovan and her husband Matt, Amie Gemelli and her husband Brian and Edward Lytle; 2 great-grandchildren: James W. Donovan and Caroline Gemelli and several nieces and nephews. At the family’s request all services are private.
