Mrs. Lillian Forsyth Thornton, age 90 of Rockmart passed away Monday, March 18, 2019. Mrs. Thornton was born April 9, 1928 in Paulding County, daughter of the late James Alexander “Papa Jim” Forsyth and the late Lillian Mae Tant Forsyth. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company with over 25 years of service.

Mrs. Thornton loved her church and enjoyed fishing, cooking and quilting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy W. Thornton on November 11, 2003; son, Barry Ray Thornton; two sisters, Jewel Proctor and Ellen Holmes; and brother, Ernest Forsyth. Survivors include two sons, Allan Thornton of Aragon and Eddie Wayne Thornton and his wife, Libby of Rockmart; two grandchildren, Pamela Thornton and Rosa Thornton.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thornton will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Parris officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 between the hours of 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. Freeman Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Forsyth Thornton.
