Lloyd Eugene “Lou” Hovermale, 82, of Westminster, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. Lou was the beloved husband of Susan Hovermale, nee Staley, his wife of 45 years. Lou was born on December 21, 1935 in Pikeside, WV to the late Perry and Dorothy Largent Hovermale.

In addition to his wife, Lou is survived by his son, William “Bill” Hovermale and his wife, Simone of Westminster, his grandchildren Jamison, Mya and Kayden; his brother Thomas Hovermale of Cross Junction, VA; his sister Marguerite Henn of Ohio; and many loving nieces and nephews. Lou was an avid fan of the Orioles, the Ravens and the Baltimore Colts. He loved history, especially the Civil War.

He also enjoyed reading, playing family poker games and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Lou was predeceased by siblings Harry “Sam” Hovermale, Freda Meyerhoffer, Phyllis Harvath and Norma Jean Hettenhouser. His family will receive visitors on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 24 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Anne Marie Meyerhoffer officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
