Mark Anthony Anderson, 50, of Spring Grove, PA and formerly of Westminster, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Mark was born on December 1, 1967 in Jersey Shore, PA. He was the beloved father of Aidan Anderson of Finksburg; and the beloved brother of Crystal Taylor of Spring Grove, PA.

He was a graduate of Paint Branch High School, class of 1986. He received a Biology Degree from Towson State University, and a Secondary Education Degree and Master’s… Read More » Degree of Science from Notre Dame. Mark was employed for 16 years in various education jobs including; teacher and substitute for Carroll County Public Schools, and most recently before and after school director at William Winchester for the Y of Central Maryland.

He greatly enjoyed working with kids and was loved by his students and their families. He was a former leader of the Boy Scouts of America, and was active with Pack 150 and Troop 1750. Surviving in addition to his son and sister are parental figures Scott and Mabel Brooks of Morgantown, WV; brother-in-law David Taylor of Spring Grove, PA; niece Christine Taylor; nephew Mat Anderson; former wife Michele Anderson of Finksburg; and mother-in-law JoAnn Stewart of Finksburg.

He was predeceased by his Grandma and Grandpa Brooks. The family will welcome friends on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 2 pm until the start of funeral services at 5pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd. , Westminster MD 21157.

Interment will be private. Online condolences may be offered in his memory to the Y of Central Maryland.
