Lois Elaine Benda November 28, 1924 – February 28, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Lois Elaine Benda, 94, of Chireno, TX and formerly of Atlanta, MO passed away at her home on Thursday, February 28, 2019. Lois was born on November 28, 1924 in Lomax, IL, the daughter of Clifford & Hazel (Wallace) Thompson. She was united in marriage to Eston B. Benda on January 20, 1943.

Her hobbies were gardening and quilting. Lois is survived by six daughters, Diana Garnett of Moberly, MO, Sandra Prigg of Fairfield Glade, TN, Karon Gartman of Chireno, TX, Sheila Harding of Nacogdoches, TX, Tina Howard of Milan, MO, and Linda Wyatt of Macon, MO; and one son, Rodney Benda of Ashland, MO. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eston on October 16, 1999; one son, Eric Benda; one daughter, Sharon Lair; 3 sisters, Pearl Welborn, Darlene Welborn, and Luella Hubbard; and one brother, Robert Thompson. Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Atlanta Christian Church in Atlanta, MO. Burial will be in the Mt.

Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Elliott Funeral Home in Atlanta, MO. Family suggests memorials may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or the Atlanta Christian Church and may be left with the funeral home.
