Obituary for Mrs. Lois Hackney York Mrs. Lois Hackney York, age 81, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, at her home, under the care and comfort of her family. Funeral services will be on her birthday, July 15, 2018, at 2 PM Sunday, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Reverend Eddie Reed will officiate, with burial to follow in Hoovers Grove Cemetery in Moore County.

The family will receive visitors 12 noon Sunday until time of service. She was born July 15, 1936, in Edwardsville, Illinois, to the late Doc and Ruby Wheeler Hackney. She was a retired Registered Nurse from Bedford County Medical Center, with over 25 years of service, a great deal of which was spent in the emergency room.

Preceding her in death were three children, Carolyn Lee Wilkinson, Alfred H. York, and Carl M. York; two brothers, Clarence S. Hackney and Huey Hackney; a sister, Dorothy C. Martin. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Alfred York, of Shelbyville; daughter in law, Marilyn York, of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, Jeremy York, Johnathan Wilkinson, Beth Perry, Lisa York, Casey York, Seth York, and Misty York; ten great grandchildren. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
