Lois’ Obituary Lois Jean Howard, 73, of Mexico, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital-Audrain in Mexico surrounded by her loving family. Memorial Services will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, at Arnold Funeral Home. Visitation is Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lois was born on December 17, 1945 in Calwood, the daughter of Charles Huston and Annabelle Sylvania (Gowin) Brandenburg. Lois graduated from Wellsville High School in 1963 and then moved to Mexico. She worked for Audrain Medical Center for 26 years.

Then in 2006, she joined the Mexico Public Schools as a paraprofessional, retiring in 2017. Ms. Howard enjoyed bowling and playing cards. More than all, she loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include one daughter, Dana Howard of Mexico; one son, Chris (Amy) Howard of Lees Summit; five grandchildren, Jason Howard of California, Jasmine (Jason) Fowler of Mexico, Michael (Sally) Howard of Columbia, Lily and Emmy Howard, both of Lees Summit; three great-grandchildren, Houston, Helena and Phoenix Fowler, all of Mexico; six siblings, Tom (Mary) Brandenburg of Chesapeake, Virginia, Mike (Sharlet) Brandenburg of New Haven, Carol Robinson of New Haven, Bruce (Kelly) Brandenburg of Warrenton, Joe (Nancy) Brandenburg of Lakeland, Florida, and Steve Brandenburg of Jonesburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Brenda Elliott, Gary Brandenburg, Susie Hatcher, and Charlie Brandenburg. Memorial donations may be made to the Special Education Department of Mexico Public Schools.
