Lois Jean Pogue September 30, 1935 – May 15, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Lois Jean Pogue, 83, of Lebanon, passed away May 15, 2019, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. Jean was born Sept. 30, 1935, in Wabash County, IN, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Geneva (Elzroth) Pogue.

Jean was passionate about teaching and taught at Harney Elementary School in Lebanon for the length of her entire career. She always enjoyed playing cards. Survivors include her sister, Carolyn Campbell of Fort Wayne; adopted family, David (Carolyn) Carney of Tell City; special friends, Dan Dippold and John Cowan; adopted grandchildren, Sarah Carney (late, Michael Zimmerman), Elizabeth (James) Elsesser, and David Carney; adopted great-grandchildren, Caroline and Will Clark, and Ethan, Andrew, and Caleb Elsesser; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Paul, and Vaughn Pogue; sisters, Lavena Hults and Joan Barton; and dear friend, Imogene Cain. Family and friends will gather Sun. , May 19, 2019, for visitation from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. and funeral services will be held on Mon.

, May 20, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Jean will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon. You are invited to visit the website www.
