Loi Agnes M Cra Peak , December 04, 2003 — July 18, 2018

Lois Agnes McCray Peak, 91, of Asheville, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the WNC Baptist Home. A native of Saltville, VA, Lois was a daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Anna Barnett McCray. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lee Frank Peak, who passed on December 4, 2003; and siblings, Nell Hellmandollar Litton, Arthur Lee McCray, Jr., and William Patrick “Bill” McCray.

Lois was an accomplished author and co-author of multiple books. These include novels, children’s books, biographies, commentaries and ancestral research. She was also a successful business owner with Frank and an avid student and teacher of Biblical principles.

She taught Sunday School for years and also played the piano in church. She spent decades in prayer ministries in several churches in Virginia, Texas and North Carolina. Lois is survived by her children, Judy Kaye Peak Canter and husband Charles Wesley Canter, of Asheville, Ronnie Lee Peak and wife Jackie Couch Peak, of Corinth, TX, and Samuel Vaughn Peak and wife Shelby Johnson Peak, of Irving, TX; siblings, Evelyn Sharrett Hutton, Dorris Creger Peak, Fred McCray, and Jane Oberson; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren scattered amongst Texas, Missouri, Virginia and North Carolina.

The funeral service for Lois will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, at the Chapel at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Ralph ton, Rev. Davis Plemmons, and Pastor Allen Rash officiating. Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel.

Services in Texas will take place the following week at Grace Community Church, in Flower Mound. Lois will then be buried beside Frank at National Cemetery, in Dallas. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.
