Lois”Geraldine” (Spielman) MacDonald 97, passed away November 19, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Assisted Living in Anchorage, Alaska. She is the daughter of Lewis and Ruby “Gladys” (Mullen) Spielman and was born November 9, 1921 in Cripple Creek, Colorado. She was raised there and graduated from Cripple Creek High School in 1939.

Geraldine Married Malcolm Coombs MacDonald in Raton New Mexico on October 26, 1940. They returned to Cripple Creek to live and start a family. Geraldine was a loving mother raising 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls.

She loved traveling, music and going out dancing with Malcolm. She was also an avid Colorado sports fan especially the Broncos and it wasn’t a good idea to root for the other team they were playing. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother and her daughter Kathy Finkle.

She is survived by her children Jerry (Connie) MacDonald, Carol (John) Mason and Steve (Lyn) MacDonald, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Thank you to all the care coordinators at Alzheimer’s Re of Alaska, and to Providence Hospice (Beth in particular). A very special thank you to Eva, Leo, and Jerome Valdez who cared for Geraldine the last 16 years, and became her second family.

We are forever grateful for the care and compassion you gave her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Re of Alaska, or the charity of choice.
