Obituary for Lorella Chamberlain Lorella Mae Connor Chamberlain, age 91 of Glendive, Montana passed away peacefully early Saturday morning July 14, 2018 at her home. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive with Pastor Darrell Nefzger officiating.
Interment will be in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Glendive. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements. Lorella was born November 29, 1926 to Julius A. Connor and Thelma Agee Connor in Brookfield, Missouri.
She graduated from Brookfield High School in 1945 and in 1949 from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College now (Truman University) in Kirksville, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Music, where she studied violin and piano. Following her graduation, Lorella taught fourth grade at Moberly Park School. She also taught a class in Baton twirling and assisted with instruction of the string group in the school orchestra.
In 1967 Lorella taught a Remedial Reading program at the Atlanta school until 1978. On August 12, 1949 Lorella married the love of her life Harold W. Chamberlain at her parents home in Brookfield. Harold and Lorella resided on a small farm outside of Atlanta, Missouri where they raised four children.
In 1987 they sold their home in Missouri and moved to Glendive to be closer to the children. Lorella is survived by her loving and dedicated husband Harold Chamberlain; one brother Bruce A. (Sharon) Connor of Brookfield; two daughters, Marcia (Donald) Bennett, Sherry (Roger) Sportsman; two sons, Mike Chamberlain and Jamie (Teresa) Chamberlain; seven grandchildren, Chris Bennett, Michelle (Marcus) Morris, Ben Sportsman, Pat Sportsman, Tiffanie (Andrew) Smith, Jonathan Chamberlain, Tyler (Cheryl) Chamberlain; fourteen great grandchildren, Shawn, Sierra, Evan, and Kylie Smith, Allie Baisch, Sage and Jada Sportsman, Kalista and Kolbee Sportsman, Nathan and Matthew Morris and Paisley Smith. Lorella was preceded in death by her parents and a great grandson Keden Sportsman.
