Loretta Barnhart, 78 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN. Loretta was born on October 15, 1939 in Charlestown, IN the daughter of William Henry and Viola Bell Lewis Montgomery. She was a member of Charlestown Independent Church and Charlestown Homemakers Club.

Loretta collected butterfly memorabilia, Dolls and enjoyed making wood crafts. Survivors include her son, Carl Ray Smith, brother, Jerry Montgomery of Scottsburg, IN; companion, Dave Guethlein; grandchildren and great-grandchilren; several nieces and nephews. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Donald Barnhart; son, John Wayne Smith; brothers, Henry, Charles, Ray, Leonard, Archie, Darrell and Arthur Montgomery; sisters, Gloria Rosengarn, Phyllis Vest, Vivian Castaneda and Angela King.

Cremation was chosen and no services will be held. Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown is entrusted with the arrangements.
