Shirley Sue Gregory Spencer, 75, entered the Gates of Heaven and was greeted by Jesus on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Shirley was born on May 23, 1943 in DeWitt, KY to Robert and Geneva (Jackson) Gregory. She graduated from Charlestown High School in 1962.

She was an amazing mother, homemaker, and later she worked and eventually retired from the YMCA Daycare in Charlestown, IN. She was a devoted Christian that loved the Lord with her whole heart and one of the Godliest women that you would ever meet. She was a member of the North Charlestown Church of God.

She loved her family and friends and spending time making memories with them. She liked to sew and crochet and was always ready for a good game of “Yahtzee”. Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Robert Gregory; brother, Terry Wayne Gregory; nephew, Robert Gregory, Jr.; great-grandson, Calvin Wayne Sells.

She is survived by her mother, Geneva Gregory of Charlestown, IN; her daughter and her husband, Teresa and Paul Spalding of Charlestown, IN; her son and his wife, Kenneth and Rebecca Spencer of Shepherdsville, KY; Grandchildren, Kayla Sells (Travis), Hunter Spencer, Lindsey Spencer, and Teegan Spalding; brothers, Ronnie Gregory (Pat), Jimmy Gregory (Donna), and Robert “Bobby” Gregory (Trish) all of Charlestown, IN. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Old Salem Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday from 12pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Saturday.
