Obituary for Lorraine G. A’Hearn Lorraine A’Hearn (nee Georgantas), loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at the age of 87. Lorraine was born November 9, 1930 in Joliet, Illinois. On May 15, 1954, Lorraine married David A’Hearn, Sr

They raised four sons: David Jr. (Darlene), E. Patrick (late Cathy), Michael (Tina), and Dan (Kara), and 2 daughters: Margaret (late Kenneth) Floyd and Kathleen (Jerry) Novak. Loving Grandmother of Kevin, Kyle, Joseph, Brian (engaged to Amy), Ryan (Ellen), Tricia, Mike, Alexandra, Wesley, and Elise A’Hearn, Tamara (Oscar) Martinez, A.J. (Kara) and Danny Orosco, Matt (Lori), Katie, Rachel and Anna Novak and Alyssa (Keegan) Grooms and Ivan Nikolov. Treasured Great-Grandmother of Isabella and Lucie Martinez, Sydney, Abby and Nate Novak, Braelyn and Jackson Orosco, Leo, Brielle and Devin A’Hearn.

A selfless woman devoted to her family and her faith, Lorraine was a long time member of St. Jude’s Joliet parish, worked as the school secretary for several years and then worked for the Diocese of Joliet in the Tribunal until her retirement. Lorraine embodied loving Christianity and led by example, showing tremendous love for her large extended family and friends. Her sister and lifelong best friend, Connie A’Hearn was a constant pillar of love, support and joy for Lorraine in every step of life.

Lorraine had a passion for music and a beautiful voice, singing in public arenas such as churches always around the house. She will be remembered for her quick wit, gentle kindness, and compassionate spirit. Welcoming Lorraine into her eternal home will be her devoted husband David, her parents Anthony and Margaret, her brothers and sisters-in-law Bob (Gloria), George (Georgetta), Teak (Terry), Don and Dick, and her sister Betty Bick, daughter-in-law Cathy A’Hearn, son-in-law Kenneth Floyd Sr., 2 grandchildren: David Floyd and Kelly A’Hearn and numerous nieces and nephews.

The wake will be held this Friday, October 26, 2018, 4-8pm at Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road in Joliet. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Church of St. Jude in Joliet. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
