Obituary of Louise Kubas Mrs. Louise H. Kubas, 100, of Amsterdam died peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2019 surrounded by her family. Born in Stamford CT, she was the daughter of the late John and Lillian Holub Malkowicz. Louise moved to Amsterdam as a young child with her family and was educated locally.

On August 17, 1940 she was united in marriage to Joseph J. Kubas. That union lasted 66 years until his passing on February 14, 2006. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Stephen M. Jackson.

Louise was employed for Lurie’s Department Store and Montco in Amsterdam until her retirement. She also was a cook for the convent at St. Mary’s Parish. Above all she loved her family deeply, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include, her daughters, MaryLou Warnick of Gloversville, NY and Judith Habla of Willow, Alaska; one brother, Walter Malkowicz of Seattle, WA ; two granddaughters, Meredith Fancher and Tricia Javarone; three great grandchildren, Madison Fancher, Jackson Atty and Carly Atty; nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church at a later date. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Mary’s Institute, 10 Kopernick Blvd, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or the charity of one’s choice.
