Obituary for Lucienne B. Demers SOMERSET—Lucienne B. (Potvin) Demers, known to everyone as “Lucie B”, age 95, passed away Tuesday in the Catholic Memorial Home, Fall River after an illness. She was the widow of Maurice A. Demers. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Alfred Potvin, Jr. and the late Edouardina (Thibault) Potvin, she has lived in Somerset since 1969.

Lucienne worked at the former Firestone plant in Fall River during WWII and then helped with her father’s many businesse ventures, until she and her husband opened the Demers and Sons gas station on Brightman St. in Fall River. There she managed the bookkeeping and paperwork for a number of years. She loved her family and loved reading.

She is survived by a son, Paul M. Demers and his wife Donna of Westport; a daughter, Anne Marie Watkinson and her husband Mark of Somerset; 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She was also mother of the late Ronald A. Demers and sister of the late Raymond J. Potvin. A services will be held Thursday, October 11 beginning at 8:30 AM from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset with a 10 AM funeral mass in St. Thomas More Church, Somerset.

Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Flowers are welcome, however evening calling hours have been omitted.
