Langer, 97, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Manor Care. She was born on September 30, 1920, in the house on 19th Ave. and 51st Street to Otto and Viola (Johnson) Brandt as their only child.
Lucile was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, attended their grade school, then Washington Jr. High and graduated from Kenosha High School in 1938. She went on to work at Coopers (Jockey) in the office for eight years until her marriage. She married Robert M. Langer on August 17, 1946 at Friedens Lutheran Church.
He preceded her in death in January of 2003. They had one son and two daughters. After their youngest daughter was three months old they moved to the south part of Kenosha.
They joined Bethany Lutheran Church where she held various offices in the Ladies Aide and was the first director of the Altar Guild. Lucile loved to travel. She and her husband enjoyed bowling, square dancing, and family camping trips.
She visited almost every one of the continental United States. In her later years she enjoyed reading books and watching TV. When her children were in school she worked part time for ManPower, Josephson & Thomy Plumbing, Bethany Church for Pastor Naumann, and finally handled the office of Harry Crow & Son, retiring in 1982.
Lucile is survived by one son Dale (Sharon) Langer of North Carolina and two daughters Lynne L. Langer and Carol (Douglas) Polso both of Kenosha, her grandchildren Michael (Tori) Langer, Michelle Langer, Marissa (William) Smith all of North Carolina, Chad, Kevin, Adam, Travis and Katrina Polso all of Kenosha, her great grandchildren Dawson and Camden Langer and Abigayle and Daphne Smith all of North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, parents-in-law Helen and Fred Langer, one grandson Mark Langer in infancy, one sister-in-law Evelyn Langer Iorns, two brothers-in-law Harold Langer and wife Lucille Langer and Walter Langer and wife June Langer, one nephew Dean Langer, one niece Shelby Plunkett and cousins Loretta Hansen and Harold and his wife Beulah Brandt. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26th at Bethany Lutheran Church (2100 – 75th St.) from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Green Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Bethany Lutheran Church.
