Lucille Florence Emery, 89, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at her home. Lucille was born in Dowagiac, MI, on February 13, 1929 to Loren and Ethel P. (Hoppe) Smith. On November 26, 1981 in Las Vegas, Nevada, she married Jack Emery who preceded her in death.

Also surviving are her beloved children, Linda Messman of La Porte, Ab (Diane) Abiney of Mission Viejo, CA, Patrick (Karen) Abiney of La Porte, and David (Cindy) Emery of Boise, ID; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Emery; son, Jimmy Abiney; grandsons, Tommy Collette, Jamie Collette; and sisters, Helen Densmore, and Pauline Taylor. Lucille was a member of the La Porte Yacht Club, American Legion, and VFW Auxiliary’s.

She always gave 110 % wherever she worked over the years. She worked hard and played twice as hard. She loved playing cards, bowling, and traveling.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 PM (CT) on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Rodney Nielsen officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 2 PM (CT) until the time of the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will take place privately at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles, MI.
