Madeleine Mergner, 96, of Hazlet, NJ passed away Sunday, October 21st,2018. Madeleine was born in Orange, NJ on September 20, 1922, a daughter of the late Theresa (Carlin) and Michael Devereux. She lived in Hazlet for most of her life where she was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Hazlet Fire Department.

Madeleine is predeceased by her loving husband Fred Mergner and son Brian. She is survived by her cherished sons and their wives Wayne and Terrie of Howell, and Keith and Kelly of Jackson and daughter in law Theresa Mergner. Also surviving are her devoted grandchildren Joseph and Tina Mergner, Melissa and Artur Kurpiewski, Michael and Cristin Mergner, Scott and Taylor Mergner, Eric and Victoria Mergner, Shannon and Jeff Bourgue, Kyle and Jackie Mergner and Kim Mergner as well as 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Madeleine will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Day Funeral Home 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735. Funeral services will be Thursday 8:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family RCC, Union Beach. Interment will be at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.
