Mae’s Obituary Mae V. DeCastro, 95, of Oswego, died February 20, 2019 at St. Luke Health Services. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Beatrice (Farrelly) Horgan. She retired after 25 years from the Penfield Library at SUNY Oswego in 1986.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting and was a member of St. Joseph’s Rosary Society. Surviving are three daughters, Margaret Randazzo of Syracuse; Alice DeCastro of Syracuse; Barbara (Dennis) Berry of Oswego; a son, Joseph F. DeCastro Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Christopher (Sharla) Randazzo, Zachary (Kara) Randazzo, Joseph (Amy) Randazzo, Sara (Rob) Cunningham, Miles (Abby) DeCastro, Erica (Garrett) Stetson and Ian Berry; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph “Pep” DeCastro in 2007, and her brother Edward and his wife Mary Horgan.

Calling hours will be held 9-10:30AM Saturday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held 10:30AM Saturday at Christ the Good Shepard of St. Joseph’s Church. Entombment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
