Rachel’s Obituary Oswego- Rachel H. (Turkington) Workman, 95, of Oswego passed away on February 3rd, 2019 at home. Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late John and Hilda (Breitbeck) Turkington. She met and married her husband, the late, John Richard “Dick” Workman on December 27th, 1943 and together raised their sons.

Rachel was a secretary at the Oswego County Clerks office. She also worked with her husband at their store, Workman’s Floral Shop, for many years on West Bridge Street. Surviving are her son, Daniel Workman of Brockport, NY; sister, Esther “Esi” (Hon.

Richard) Simons of Rome NY; three grandchildren, Danielle Workman, William Workman, Andrew Workman; six great-grandchildren, Timothy Moon, James Workman, Rachel Engman, Max Workman, Isabelle Workman and Harrison Workman and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Richard “Dick” Workman, a son, William “Bill” John Workman; brother, John Turkington, and great-grandson Daniel Moon. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 11th, 2019 from 10-12PM at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.

Funeral Service will follow at 12:30 PM at Grace Lutheran Church, 201 East 6th Street, Oswego. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Celeste Culeton and her family, Shelby, Isabella, Colleen, Alicia, Bri, and Mindy, for the loving care they provided Rachel. A Spring Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery.
