Thomas’ Obituary Oswego- Thomas L. Walpole II, 88, of Oswego died peacefully on March 20th, 2019 at St Luke’s Heath Center. Born in Oswego on February 9th, 1931, he was the son of Thomas L. and Beatrice (Bocco) Walpole. Thomas served in the 1st Infantry Division of the United States ARMY.

He retired from General Electrical as an electrical technician. Tom loved his family deeply, was the best father, and an amazing grandfather. He enjoyed his later years in sunny North Carolina with his beloved wife and dogs, and at his camp in Redfield, New York in the summer months.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife Sylvia (Sanford) Walpole; sisters, Rita Walpole, Florence (Doug) Gehan, Mary Springsteen, Beverly (John) Bradshaw, Teresa (Al) Wells; brothers, James (Helen) Walpole, Robert Walpole, David Walpole, Richard Walpole; and son-in-law, Martin Brady. Surviving are his children, Thomas Walpole III, of Naples, Florida, Teresa Brady of Liverpool NY, Patrick Walpole of Liverpool NY, and Doree (Rick) Hill of Newport, North Carolina; brothers, Donald (Angie) Walpole of Honeoye Falls, NY and Ronald (Bette) Walpole of Bristol, Rhode Island; sisters-in-law, Patricia Walpole of Sherrill, Anne Walpole of Oswego, and Sandra Walpole of Oswego; brother-in-law Morton (Jane) Sanford of Newport, North Carolina, eight beloved grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the many wonderful nurses and staff at St. Luke’s for their love, support and care.

A Burial with Military Honors will be held at 11am on Friday May 24th at St. Peter’s Cemetery. The family wishes that any contributions be made to St. Lukes, 299 East River Road Oswego. Nelson Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.
