Douglas’ Obituary Douglas B. Parker, 70, a resident of County Route 1 in Scriba, passed away peacefully Tuesday, at Morningstar Care Center in Oswego. Doug was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the son of the late Herman and Phyllis (Atwater) Parker. He received his Associates Degree in Fire Science, and had formerly been a firefighter in the state of Michigan.

He was also an associate member of the Scriba Fire Department. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, and was stationed in England in the 1970s. Prior to retirement, he worked as a pharmacy technician at Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse for 10 years.

He had lived in the Oswego area for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Burnham) Parker of Scriba; a son, Gary Parker of Florida; a sister, Christina Parker of California; a granddaughter, Marissa Parker; a daughter-in-law, Julie Faulkner of Florida; and his dachshunds. His family would like to thank the C wing staff at Morningstar for the excellent care he received when he was there A very special thanks also go out to his nephew, Greg Kosbob, who was always there for Doug, day in and day out.

There will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are in care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego.
