Joseph’s Obituary Joseph LeFevre, 66, of Oswego, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 10th at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse. Joe, the son of the late David A. and Mary (Troxel) LeFevre, was born in Elkhart, IN. He received a Bachelor’s degree from DePauw University in Indiana and a PhD from Virginia Tech.

He was a professor in the Chemistry Department at Oswego State from 1985 until his retirement in 2015. Joe was also a professional landscape photographer who taught photography workshops across the country as one of the teaching staff of the Adirondack Photography Institute. His work was published in numerous local and national publications and won international awards, including three competitions that resulted in his work being displayed at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. Joe was a devoted family man and a man of great faith.

He was active in his church, serving as an elder, an adult Sunday school teacher, and the small groups coordinator. Joe is survived by his wife, Linda of Oswego; sons Robert of Nanuet and David of Oswego; daughter Joanna of New Jersey; brother Thomas and sister Kate, both of Indiana. Calling hours will be from 9:30-11 am on Saturday, February 2nd, at Fulton Alliance Church (1044 St. Rte.

48, Fulton, NY 13069), with a Celebration of Life service at 11 and luncheon to follow. Memorial donations may be made to Operation Heal Our Patriots at Samaritan’s Purse (www. samaritanspurse.org).
