Margaret’s Obituary Margaret Ann Theresa (Zulli) Vaitis, 87, of Harleysville, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Vaitis, who passed away January, 1990. Born January 7, 1932 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Marion (Crispo) Zulli.

Margaret graduated from Little Flower Girls High School. After graduation, she took a job at Ivan’s Cookies where she met John. They were married on April 23, 1955.

Shortly after, they moved to North Wales and worked together at Leeds & Northrup. Margaret also worked for 15 years at Montgomery County Community College after spending 16 years at home raising her son. Margaret loved her family more than anything and never missed a chance to attend a family event or celebration.

She adored cooking and baking. Her meatballs and Italian cookies were legendary and prominent at all family functions. Margaret and John moved into the Walnut Meadows community in 1989.

There she enjoyed playing bingo and planning party functions for the community, but nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Daniel Vaitis and his wife Janet of Lansdale; three grandchildren, Kevin Vaitis and wife Amanda of Lansdale, Stacey Vaitis-Dubost and husband Aaron of Harleysville, and Ashley Vaitis of Lansdale; four great-grandchildren, Ava, Paisley, Dawson, and Baby Vaitis; and five nieces and nephews, Lynn, Donna, Jerome, James, and Michael. Margaret was preceded in death by two siblings, Daniel and Maryanna; and one nephew, Daniel.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale, with the Funeral Service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret‘s name can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, www. kidney.org/.
