Mrs. Margaret Hay Tyree, age 89, of Lewisburg, passed peacefully Sunday, October 28, 2018 in NHC Lewisburg. Mrs. Tyree was a native of Marshall County, the daughter of the late Walter and Brownie Allen Hay. Mrs. Tyree was a 1948 graduate of Marshall County High School and a graduate of Draughn’s Business College.

She worked many years as a telephone operator for South Central Bell, then as an insurance clerk at Leonard’s Hospital before serving 16 years as the Marshall County Trustee. She was a lifelong member of Church Street Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Tyree, Jr. in 2013, and two brothers, Own and Edwin Hay.

She is survived by one daughter, Jackie (Eddie) Abernathy of Lewisburg, one sister, Anita Wheat of Lewisburg, three grandchildren, Lea (Chase) Perryman, Anne (Beau) Hardison, and Rob (Haley) Abernathy, and seven great grandchildren, Brantley, Caraline, Cade, Jacey, Tripp, Blake and Mallory. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 1:00 pm from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin on Monday evening from 4:00 until 8:00 pm and will continue on Tuesday until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the school of your choice. London Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
