Hererra August 09, 1937 – February 14, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Maria Herrera, age 81, of Tipton, Indiana passed away on Thursday February 14, 2019 at IU Health in Tipton. Maria was born on August 9, 1937 in McAllen, Texas to Manual and Elijia (Gonzalez) Acevedo. In 1961 she married Felix Herrera Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1995.

Maria was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Tipton. In her spare time she enjoyed reading the Bible, playing the piano and singing. Maria was a volunteer at Second Blessings in Tipton.

She retired from Tipton County Memorial Hospital in 2004 after many years of service. Survivors include, her children; Eriberto Bustinza, Felix (Sherri) Herrera Jr., Norma (Wayne) Herrera Brewer, Jesse Herrera, and Juan Herrera along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren and 2 siblings. Very close friends of Maria’s over the years were Viola Hopkins, Margaret Gutierrez, and Maria Martin.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 9 siblings. Visitation is from 12 PM to 2 PM on Monday February 18, 2019 at the Porter Funeral Home located at 726 East North Street in Tipton. Funeral services will take place at 2 PM following the visitation time.

Pastor Joe Brock will be officiating.
