Maria Esperanza Maldonado, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 in Del Rio. Maria was born on February 19, 1928 in Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico to Juan Mireles and Eleuteria Gomez. Preceding in her death was her beloved husband Santiago Maldonado, Jr.; parents, Juan Mireles and Eleuteria Gomez; and her son in law Roberto Garza.

Family members left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Oralia Maldonado; sons, Santiago and wife Elizabeth, and Juan Francisco; grandchildren, Yvette Rodriguez and husband Victor, Sandra Akerman and husband Ivan, Santiago Maldonado and wife Leticia, Susana Herron and husband Dean, Juan Roberto Garza and wife Alma, Rubi Perez, Jacob Maldonado; great-grandchildren, Santiago V, Kassandra, Dylan, Giselle, Aaron, Manuel, Jose Luis, and Ashley. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018 at G.W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Templo Bethel located at 506 Esquivel St. with Rev. Guadalupe Mora.

Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Santiago Maldonado III, Santiago Maldonado V, Jacob Maldonado, Anthony Hernandez, Manuel Villanueva, Jose Luis Villanueva. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Maria Esperanza Maldonado please visit our Sympathy Store.
