Taft – Maria R. Morales passed away peacefully September 29, 2018. She was 83. Maria was born July 28, 1935 in Kenedy, Texas to Francisca (Alvarez) and Pedro Rodriguez.

She was a lifelong resident of Taft, Texas. Maria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Maria is preceded in death by her husband: Bonifacio Morales; her parents: Pedro and Francisca Rodriguez; and her brother: Rocky Rodriguez. Survivors include 3 sons: Ruben Morales (Molly), Bonifacio Morales, Jr. and Randy Morales, all of Taft, Texas; a step-son: Vicente Morales of California; 4 daughters: Nelda Garces (Felix) and Nancy Tijerina, all of Taft, Texas; Norma Zapata (Edward) and Norfilia Aguirre, all of Corpus Christi, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; a brother: Pedro Rodriguez, Jr. (Annabel) of Corpus Christi, Texas; 3 sisters: Antonia Elizardo (Bobby), Eloisa Cortez and Alicia Mendez, all of Taft, Texas. Visitation will begin Tuesday, October 2, 2018, 5:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton.

A holy rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 3, 2018, 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Taft. Burial will follow in Taft Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
