Obituary for Marian Booker Kingsport- Marian Booker, age 100, spread her wings and went to be with Jesus on Friday, November 9,2018. She was born in Greenville, SC and moved to Kingsport, TN at the age of 18 under the care of Rev. Jessie Gamble and his family.

She moved in with Sylvester “ Mammie” Gillenwater. She was a former member of Shiloh Baptist Church and current member of Ebenezer Baptist Church for the past 10 years. She was a loving, kind, and gracious woman, who would light up a room with her smile.

She loved to talk with people and give encouragement to all who were in her presence. She loved reading, gardening, cooking and fashion. She volunteered in the church kitchen and loved to help friends and families of the church and her community and neighbors @ Maple Oak Apartments.

She is predeceased by her Husband- Raymond Brown Booker, Daughter- Sandra Adale Booker, Mother & Father and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by Sandra F. Wilmer- niece, Shirley Liggett- Sister-in-law, Ethel Ruth Russell- cousin, several nieces and nephews , great nieces and nephews, several other family members and longtime friend and care giver- Mary Gamble. The family would like to thank Dr. McClain of Kingsport Primary Care and staff, Holston Manor Nursing Home and staff, Amedysis Hospice, Legacy Home Health Care and all care givers.

Visitation will be Friday, November 16, 2018 at Tri-Cities Funeral Home from 11-12, service @ 12 with burial to follow at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Pastor James Whiteside will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund, 1026 Maple Street, Kingsport, TN 37660.
