Obituary for Marian Leahy Lord Marian Leahy Lord, 94, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018. She was born February 3, 1924 in New York City, a daughter to the late Maurice Leahy and Margaret Carroll Leahy. Marian earned her Bachelors Degree from St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg, MD, attended Pratt Institute of Art in New York and received her Masters from Murray State University, Murray, KY.

She taught art for Jefferson County Public Schools for many years until her retirement. Marian was a member of St. Bernadette, formerly Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church. She was also a founding member and past president of the Kentucky Watercolor Society.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, George R. Lord; son, Greg; daughter, Margaret Hornback and her brother and sister, Joseph Leahy and Margaret Tulley. Marian is survived by her daughter, Carol Wiseman (Lenny); grandchildren, Christopher Hornback (Deanna), Jennifer Green, Justin and Michelle Wiseman, Jason, Aaron, Elaina, Blair and Jack Lord, and great-grandchildren, Jackson & Jillian Green and Renee Hornback. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Hallmark House for their loving care and support.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Thursday, June 21, 2018 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 6500 St. Bernadette Avenue, Prospect, KY. Visitation will be 2-8 pm, Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road “in St. Matthews”. Memorial gifts can be made to The Society of St. Vincent DePaul or “Class of 69” Scholarship fund at Trinity High School, in honor of Greg Lord.
