Obituary for Louise Scearce Flom Louise S. Flom, 93, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 7, 2018. She was born September 22, 1924 in Louisville to the late Richard Ward Scearce and Lucille Cruickshank Scearce. Louise was a graduate of the University of Kentucky where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Home Economics and where she became a huge fan of the Wildcats.

Upon graduation she became a house mother for 24 orphans at the Kentucky Children’s Home on Lagrange Road. She met the love of her life, Merritt Cameron Flom in September of 1958 and were united in marriage on July 18, 1948 together they had one daughter, Cinda Flom Heaberlin. Merritt passed away on September 11, 2008 after nearly 60 years of marriage.

In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by two brothers, William and Richard Scearce. She is survived by her daughter Cinda and her husband, Don of Hickory, NC; two grandsons, Jay (Adrienne) and Brent (Emily) Heaberlin; three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Addison and Nash and the fourth to arrive in December. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Lucille “Tiny” and Margaret Scearce.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm Monday, June 11, 2018 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville. Visitation will be prior, starting at 2 pm until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
