Obituary for Edwina Joan Adler Edwina J. Adler, 81, passed away at her home June 2, 2018. She was a native of Maynard, Arkansas, President of Tri-Color Saddlebreds. LLC, a 2 time World’s Grand Champion with American Saddlebred Horses (appearing at Freedom Hall) first with “Sultry Heiress” and second with “Gothic Revival”.

In her younger days she was a professional model who traveled and appeared across the country and on occasion she was also a guest radio talk show host. She had a strong Christian faith, God and Family always came first and when they were young, she read to her kids from a Bible story book that she and her sister purchased (from their earnings on a farm they worked when they were youths) thus instilling and passing on that same faith to them. Her closest friends called her “Joan” while family used the name Edwina and, of course, the kids called her “Mom”.

She was kind and compassionate to all with whom she would come in contact and took the time to get to know them as persons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pleanie and Elreba (Hicks) Evans; sisters, Estelee and Eva; and grandson, Evan. She is survived by her son, Greg; daughters, Valerie and Melody; brother, Melvin “Sonny” (Margaret); sister, Ramona (Leo), who she talked to on the phone on a daily basis; grandchildren, Angelica, Chris, Alyssa, and William; four great grandchildren; ex husband, friend, and companion Charles, who remained very close to her; and her Jack Russell Terrier, Prince who really had a special place in her heart — she got him as a rescue dog and ever since they were rarely, if ever, apart for long.
