Obituary for Marie Joyce Oakes Marie Joyce Oakes, age 78, of New Market, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, October 19, 2018. She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Luther Oakes; parents, Joe and Lucille Solomon; brothers, Robert and Kenneth Solomon; and son-in-law, John Murph.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Murph, Denna (Hal) Stroud and Nick (Dawn) Oakes; grandchildren, Johnathan (Jessica) Murph, Lauren (Adam) Rickard, Caitlin (Zach) White, Marina and Will Oakes, Ally and Ashlyn Glover; great-grandchild, Malachi Glover; sister, Ann (David) Hubbard; brothers, Tom (Frankie) Solomon and Frank (Nancy) Solomon; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mobile Lifehouse Ministries. Funeral service 7:00 PM Monday, October 22, 2018 at Fielden Chapel with Nick Oakes officiating.

Interment 11:00 AM Tuesday in New Market Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM prior the service at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Marie Joyce Oakes please visit our Sympathy Store.
