Mario Paul McHugh, age 63, of Ann Arbor, Michigan passed away on January 20, 2019. He was born on May 5, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan and was raised in the Detroit and Ann Arbor areas by his parents John and Cecilia McHugh. Mario owned and operated Mario Services providing landscaping and snow removal services to the Ann Arbor area for almost 25 years.

He loved watching sports, especially University of Michigan football and basketball, Detroit Tigers baseball, Red Wings hockey, and Detroit Lions football. Mario is survived by his daughter, Caitlin Mertke-McHugh; his life-partner, Sarah Earl and her daughters, Sadie (Samuel) Ames, and her children, Andie and Benjamin Ames, Samantha (Dustin) Newman, and Madison Earl. He will be deeply missed by his dog, Cody, and cat, Lilly.

A memorial service will take place on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Nie Family Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Road, Ann Arbor, at 2 PM. Friends and family are welcome to gather at 1 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in Mario’s name to the Washtenaw Alano Club, 995 N. Maple Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 48103.
