(Schmidt) Christian, 93, Lake Mills, died on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Marquardt Manor in Watertown. She was born on June 20, 1925 in Ixonia, the daughter of the late Bernard “Barney” and Anna (Fredrick) Schmidt. In 1943 she graduated from Watertown High School.

She married Oscar Christian on April 28, 1945 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown. He preceded her in death February 21, 2005. She helped on the farm in Lebanon until 1960 when they moved to their farm on Hwy S. Marion had been employed at Hamlin until her retirement.

She was a member of St. John’s Ev. “Newville” Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aide, Newville Homemakers, and volunteered with Relay For Life. Survivors include her two sons, Dennis Christian, Larry Christian; her daughter-in-law, Pam Christian; five grandsons, Craig (Shelley) Christian, Matt (Jenn) Christian, Levi Christian, Luke Christian, Logan Christian; five great grandchildren, Jacob Christian, Makayla Christian, Sophie Christian, Meghann Christian, Collin Christian; one sister, Laura (Marvin) Seifert; two brothers, Rev.

Donald (Donna) Schmidt, Armund (Jan) Schmidt; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Also preceded in death by her brother John Robert Schmidt; one sister and brother-in-law, Velda (Lester) Wagner; her son, Gary Christian; and her daughter, Barbara Christian. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at St. John’s Ev.

“Newville” Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the Claussen Funeral Home and also after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church until the time of services. Burial will be in Kroghville Cemetery.
