Obituary for Mark H. Habley Morgan – Mark H. Habley, 55, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Summit, Mark grew up in South Plainfield and graduated from South Plainfield High School in 1981; he resided in North Plainfield before settling in Morgan in 2004. An accomplished and talented musician, Mark played lead guitar with notable Jersey Shore bands in the 80s.

The former owner and operator of The Fort Recording in South Amboy, Mark also taught video production for several years at Union High School and worked as a technician at Jersey Jack Pinball in Lakewood. Mark enjoyed recording and editing music, videography, photography, electronics, and motorcycles. Mark was member of Faith Chapel in Union Beach and played percussion with the church band.

Predeceased by his father, John Habley in 2014; surviving are his wife, Frances Drake-Habley of Morgan, his mother, Betty Habley of South Plainfield; sister, Susan Habley of Branchburg and brother, Jeffrey Habley and wife Judy of Wayne. He will also be missed by his nephews, Stephen and Mathew Blyth and Nicholas Habley along with several extended nieces, nephews, loving relatives and dear friends. A Memorial Gathering of relatives and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 4-8PM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield, NJ 07080.

Burial of Mark’s cremated remains will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark’s memorial to the Plainfield Area Humane Society 75 Rock Avenue Plainfield, NJ 07063. For additional information please visit www.
