Obituary for Marlin D. Nye Marlin D. Nye, 73, of Cleona, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Joanne F. Smith Nye. On January 10th, they celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary.

Born in Lickdale on December 28, 1944, he was the son of the late George and Grace Ulrich Nye. Marlin had worked at the former Lebanon Steel Foundry and then retired from the Navy Depot. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Seabee in the Navy Reserve.

He attended the Lebanon Gospel Center. Marlin enjoyed riding his Gold Wing with the Guardian Angel’s Motorcycle Club in Myerstown and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and playing his keyboard. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Marlin Nye, Jr. and his wife Angela of Lebanon, Steve husband of Jane Sanger of Jonestown, Wayne husband of Allison Sanger of Newmanstown and Stacey husband of Sara Sanger of York Haven; daughter Sherri wife of John Small of Lebanon; brothers Wayne Nye of Lebanon and Donald Nye of Kaska; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd.

, Jonestown. There will be no viewing, but a visitation will be held beginning at 12:30 p.m. Inurnment with military honors will be follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N. Ramona Rd.
