MARTHA McCALLISTER Martha McCallister, 95, of Quincy, passed away at 2:56 a.m. Friday (January 4, 2019) at Good Samaritan Home. Born July 27, 1923 in Louisiana, Missouri, Martha was the daughter of John E. and Margaret Belle Ogden Duncan. She married Raymond W. McCallister on June 2, 1946 in the First Baptist Church in Louisiana, Missouri.

He preceded her in death on October 13, 2014. Faith and family were most important to Martha. She was an active member of Faith Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for over 20 years, served as secretary of the Women’s Circle and enjoyed her Bible Study and Prayer groups.

Martha was a member of the Women’s City Club and a former member of Spring Lake Country Club. An avid Bridge player, she enjoyed playing with her friends in her many groups and clubs. Martha devoted her life to caring for her family.

She will be remembered as a gentle spirit who encouraged everyone she met. Survivors include five children, Carol McCallister Dafferner (Michael) of The Woodlands, TX, Martin Duncan McCallister of Quincy, Dana McCallister Keppner of Quincy, Kathryn McCallister of Albuquerque, NM and Janice McCallister Saunders (Bryan) of Springfield, MO; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a sister in law, Dorothe Pappenfort of Jefferson City, MO; a niece; and two nephews. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ray.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Services for Martha will be private. Inurnment will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, Missouri.
