Martha Edge Robinson, 58, of Newdale, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, January 25, 2019 at Mission Hospitals Memorial Campus after a courageous battle against Multiple Myeloma, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late George and Georgia Edge. She was also preceded in death by a brother; John Edge and 2 special brothers-in-law: Ken Dawkins and Allen Atkins.

Martha touched many lives as a teacher’s assistant at Micaville Elementary School, for many years. She was a member of Brown’s Creek Baptist Church and found her greatest joy in cooking, spending time with her family and serving her church. Surviving are her husband of 33 years: Chris Robinson; daughters; Emily Hollifield and husband Cody of Newdale and Karey Rocha and husband Thomas of Burnsville; a grandson: Kaden Hollifield; 2 sisters: Norma Atkins of Greenwood, SC and Glenna Dawkins of Burnsville; a sister-in-law: Peggy Edge of Albemarle; 5 nephews and great nieces and great nephews, whom she loved dearly, and her mother-in law; Earlene Robinson of Burnsville.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 P. M. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Revs. Shane Buchanan and Denny Wilson will officiate.

Burial will be in Newdale Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews: Chris and Tim Dawkins, Kent and Trent Atkins and Tony Edge. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 PM Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Martha Robinson Scholarship Fund, 199 Newdale Church Road, Burnsville, NC 28714.
