Marvin Legrande Coward, 84, of Conway, South Carolina, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on December 25, 2018 at 10:18 AM. Mr. Coward was born on March 16, 1934 in Florence County, SC, son of the late Wilburn Coward and Nannie McCutcheon Coward. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and the SC National Guard, a longtime member of Grace and Glory Pentecostal Holiness Church in Coward, SC, retired after 50 years in the grocery business.

He spent most of his life in the Lake City, SC area, supporting the community, as well as various veteran and charitable groups. Marvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all. Survived by his wife, Miriam Fennell Coward of 63 years, sons, Earl Coward of Amman, Jordan, Garry Coward of Conway, SC and Wade (Lisa) Coward of Conway, SC; grandchildren, Lindsey Coward of Florence, SC and Karri Coward of Georgetown, SC; brother, Shelly Coward of Bull Shoals, AR; sister, Dot Moss of Aberdeen, NC; nieces, nephews and extended family.

Mr. Coward was preceded in death by a son, Michael Coward. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, December 28, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton. He will be laid to rest, with Military Honors, at the High Hill Cemetery in Scranton, SC.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 PM, Friday, December 28, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home in Scranton, SC. A special thank you to Hospice Care of South Carolina for their loving care and support. Also, thank you to Carolina Funeral Home, for all of the arrangements.
