Marvin Jacob Devilbiss, age 89, of Orrtanna, PA and formerly of Uniontown, MD, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, June 25, 2018. Born March 13, 1929 in Possum Hollow, he was the son of the late Lloyd C. Sr. and Ethel Bankard Devilbiss. He was married for 61 years to Barbara Otto Devilbiss.

Marvin was a 1946 graduate of New Windsor High School and served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War as a radio operator in Puerto Rico. He was a lifetime member of Westminster VFW Post #467,… Read More » a life member of the Adams County Fish and Game Association, Inc. of Orrtanna, and Westminster Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was also a member of St. Luke’s (Winter’s) Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir and served on various committees.

Marvin was a truck driver, farmer and worked as a dispatcher for Mitchell Transport Company from 1964 until 1982. He also worked for Devilbiss Construction Company for many years. Marvin was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, tying fishing flies, making wooden utensils and bowls all carved by hand, and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Kitty Lee Devilbiss and husband Brent Palochonski, Cheryl and husband Steven Keeney; 5 grandchildren, Tom and wife Shannon Marble, Sarah Marble, Stephanie Keeney, Charles and wife Ashley Keeney and Jacob Marble; 3 great-grandchildren, Cole and Isaac Marble and Lucy Keeney; several nieces and nephews, including nephew, L. Bruce and wife Christine Devilbiss; and brother-in-law, George “Slim” Otto, Jr. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd C. Jr. and Novella Devilbiss; and sister-in-law, Patricia Otto. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 30 at 11:00 am at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 701 Green Valley Rd. , New Windsor, with Pastor Anne Durboraw officiating.

Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, P.O.
