Darryl Eutaw “Peck” Holtzople, age 71, of Gettysburg, PA, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at his home. Born July 5, 1947 in Frederick County, he was the son of the late Robert E. and C. Vernice Clabaugh Holtzople. He was the husband of Doris Albaugh Holtzople, his wife of 52 years.

Peck was a 1965 graduate of Linganore High School. Following graduation he joined the Air Force and served from 1966-1970, with a portion of his service in Korea. He was a member of the Harney V.F.W. and enjoyed woodworking, music, photography, videography, and watching western movies and sports on television. Peck was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father and granddaddy. In addition to his wife he is survived by son, Darren E. Holtzople and wife Kristen of Gettysburg; daughter, Dana Noss and husband Scott of Mechanicsburg, PA; 6 grandchildren, Dalton, Hailey, Kaitlyn, Janelyn, Jaxson and Mason; sisters, Zelma S. Sheldon and husband Doug of Tucson, AZ and Barbara Nash and husband William of Walkersville; brother, Larry V. Holtzople of Gettysburg and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14 at Hartzler Funeral Home – Libertytown, 11802 Liberty Rd. , Frederick, with Rev. Jerry Cline, pastor of the Liberty-Central United Methodist Church, officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 13. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Maryland, 211 E. Lombard St., #260, Baltimore, MD 21202 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
