Kenneth Leroy “Bunk” Strawsburg, age 92, formerly of Woodsboro, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Glade Valley Center in Walkersville, MD. Born September 23, 1925 in Union Bridge, he was the son of the late William Henry and Lillian Irene Strawsburg. He was the husband of Linda Sweadner Strawsburg, who predeceased him in 2003.

In his younger years Bunk played adult baseball for the Liberty B’s of the Heart of Maryland Baseball League. His skill at center field earned him All Star honors more than once. Bunk served twice in the Navy, first in WWII and again in the Korean War.

He retired from a career as a plumber, working for R.W. Warner, in the early 1990s. He was a member of the Liberty-Central United Methodist Church. Bunk is survived by his sons, Kenneth D. Strawsburg and wife Martha of Walkersville and Donald L. Strawsburg and wife Audrey of Myersville; grandsons, Matthew, Tyler, Cody and Jesse.

Besides his parents and wife, he is predeceased by a sister, Charlotte Cramer. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 6 at 1:00 pm at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St, Woodsboro. Rev.

Jerry Cline, his pastor, will officiate.
