Obituary for Mr. David Henderson Sr Mr. David Lewis Henderson Sr, 68, of Burkittsville, MD, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born in Frederick County on October 11, 1949, he was the son of the late Roy and Mabel Weedon Henderson.

He was a member of the Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, Knoxville, and assisted with the Lord’s kitchen at the church. David is survived by his loving companion of 18 years, Sharon Smothers; son, David Henderson, Jr.; six grandchildren, Eric Sewell, Shantae Carroll, Aliyah Weedon, Deaundre Weedon, Skylar Wilson, and Joseph Smothers; great grandson, Easton; stepson, Jonathan Smothers; four brothers, Roy Henderson Jr. of Burkittsville, Daniel Henderson (Pat) of Hagerstown, Van Allen Henderson (Patricia) of Frederick, and Richard Henderson (Bonnie) of Petersville; two sisters, Hilda Smith of Berlin, NJ. and Virginia King and (Thomas) of Hagerstown; two aunts, Virginia Simms and Roxie Weedon; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

David was preceded in death by his: ex-wife, Pauline; daughter, Tracy King; brother, Charles Weedon; and two sisters, Betty Jane Weedon and Mary Henderson. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mr. David Henderson Sr. please visit our Sympathy Store.
