Saginaw, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Cartel Inns of Tri-Cities. Age 93 years. The daughter of the late Joseph and Della (Rivaldo) Brancato, Mary was born on February 28, 1926 in LaGrange, Illinois.

She was the youngest of seven children of Italian immigrants from Caccamo, Palermo, Sicily. She lost her mother at age 6 and her father at the age of 16. She married Joseph Koza on September 10, 1949.

He predeceased her on March 20, 1993. Mary was employed for the Saginaw Township School System. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Maple Hill Golf Club and American Legion.

Surviving are one son and two daughters, Donald and Sharan Koza, Frederick, Maryland; Sharon and Ken Kousky, Freeland; Nancy and Kim Taylor, Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Douglas (Melanie) Taylor, Melissa (Mike) Uhlig, Jason (Kelly) Breen, Megan (Eric) Albery, Cheryl (Brad) Lawrence, Pamela Koza, Christopher (Melinda) Koza; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Mary was preceded in death by her six siblings. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities for their loving and compassionate care.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate with interment to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery.

Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. , (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. The family will share memories of Mary at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
