(McCarthy) Otis, 61, of Windham, NH, passed away peacefully Friday morning, with her family by her side at Parkland Medical, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Mary was born in Haverhill, MA, daughter of the late James and Frances (Colohan) McCarthy. She grew up and was educated in Haverhill, MA.

She later graduated from Lowell Tech with her bachelor’s degree. She was a resident of Windham for over 30 years, Mary was a business analyst for Comcast in Manchester, NH. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Parish in Windham, NH, where she taught CCD for many years.

She was a former Troop Leader and a Service Unit Manager for the Boys and Girls Scouts in Windham. She enjoyed scrapbooking with stamps, gardening, reading, and was an avid New England sports fan, especially the Patriots. Mary also loved her pets.

Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her nephew and God child Matthew McCarthy. She is survived by her husband Mark Otis of Windham, NH, Son: James Bucuzzo of Brighton, MA, and her Daughter Ali Otis of Windham, NH, Sister: Hannah and her husband Joseph Brigandi of Haverhill MA, Brother: James McCarthy Jr, and his wife Jola of Haverhill, MA, Nephews and Niece: Ryan and Nathan McCarthy, Michael and Nicole Brigandi. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb.

12th at 10 AM at St. Matthew’s Parish, Windham, NH. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill, MA. Calling hours will be Monday, Feb.

11th from 4-8 PM at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, Windham, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ovarian Cancer Research, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza Suite 2110 New York, NY 10122, or to the Boys and Girls Scouts in Windham, NH.
