Mary “Carolyn” Springs Burton, 72 of Deerview Circle, Statesville, NC, passed away Wednesday, April 25, at Iredell Health System, Statesville, NC. She was born May 2, 1945 in Iredell County to the Ralph Springs and Bertha Mayhew Springs. Carolyn was educated in the Iredell County Schools and was a graduate of Dunbar High School and she was a member of Reid’s Memorial United Presbyterian Church.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 1st at Reid’s Memorial United Presbyterian Church, 336 N. Broad St., Mooresville, NC. Visitation will be 2:00 – 3:00 PM, with funeral services at 3:00 PM with burial to follow at Green Acres Cemetery in Mooresville, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann B. Campbell; two brothers, Eugene Springs and Willie Springs; five sisters, Margaret Norman, Gladys Phifer, Sarah Vanderburg, Merle Springs and Gladys Stewart.

Those left to cherish fond memories include two sons, Darrius Burton and Darren Burton both of Statesville; two daughters, Michelle Boller of Charlotte and Tamara Connor (De-Shon) of Mooresville; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
